Stay up-to-date on what SC Economics has to offer by joining our Monthly Teacher Newsletter!
The SIFMA Foundation's Stock Market Game™ gives students the chance to invest a hypothetical $100,000 in an on-line portfolio. Teachers who participate gain assess to a library of learning materials correlated to national voluntary and state educational standards in Math, Business Education, Economics, English/Language Arts, Technology, Social Studies and Family and Consumer Sciences. These resources have inspired many teachers to incorporate the program into classes in creative ways — at all levels, from 4th grade to 12th grade, all across the curriculum.
The Stock Market Game also teaches and reinforces 5 essential skills and concepts:
Teamwork: students work in teams to determine a strategy for growing their wealth.
Research: students research corporations and stay on-top of current events.
How Markets Work: The SMG mirrors the real marketplace, giving students a glimpse into the real-world of trading.
Competition: Competitive gameplay creates student excitement and engagement.
Relevancy: The educational experience delivers an impact on the student's financial life NOW and in the future.
We’re excited to share that SC Economics has partnered with the FINRA Investor Education Foundation to help bring financial literacy to all South Carolina schools—no matter their income level.
Eligible low-to-moderate income schools can now receive prize pack incentives just for playing the Stock Market Game this school year! YES, just for playing 🙂
