The SIFMA Foundation's Stock Market Game™ gives students the chance to invest a hypothetical $100,000 in an on-line portfolio.  Teachers who participate gain assess to a library of learning materials correlated to national voluntary and state educational standards in Math, Business Education, Economics, English/Language Arts, Technology, Social Studies and Family and Consumer Sciences. These resources have inspired many teachers to incorporate the program into classes in creative ways — at all levels, from 4th grade to 12th grade, all across the curriculum. 

The Stock Market Game also teaches and reinforces 5 essential skills and concepts:

• Teamwork: students work in teams to determine a strategy for growing their wealth. 

• Research: students research corporations and stay on-top of current events. 

• How Markets Work: The SMG mirrors the real marketplace, giving students a glimpse into the real-world of trading. 

• Competition: Competitive gameplay creates student excitement and engagement. 

• Relevancy: The educational experience delivers an impact on the student's financial life NOW and in the future.
