Orangeburg Wilkinson High School teacher Nic Hamman with his winning students
April Manning and Kim Perry. |
Over 850 student teams from grades 4-12 participated in the 2009-2010 SC Stock Market Game. The teams were given $100,000 of hypothetical money to invest in any publicly traded company on the three U.S. stock exchanges. During a ten-week period in the fall and spring, teams researched the companies, learned what it meant to buy on margin, and did all their trading online. The first, second and third place teams in each category—elementary, middle, high school and vocational—are listed below along with their teachers’ names.
