HSBC Supports Personal Finance Education in the Lowcountry

The South Carolina Council on Economic Education is pleased to announce our partnership with HSBC to provide two personal finance programs for Lowcountry teachers.

The partnership goals are to:
· Build teachers’ confidence in teaching personal finance
· Provide teachers with “best practice” personal finance materials to use in their classrooms

Kindergarten to 12th grade teachers in the Lowcountry are invited to The Econ Café at Charleston Southern University on Wednesday, September 14 from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Teachers may drop in at any time to browse through “best practice” curricula and take the programs best suited for use in their classrooms.

To support the new legislation that requires personal finance be taught beginning in kindergarten, teachers are invited to attend Personal Finance 101, an all-day training program on Friday, October 14.
